ICOMOS Canada is absolutely delighted to be able to announce that the Youth in Heritage wage subsidy is again going to be available for the 2023/2024 cycle. We anticipate opening applications in early July, so keep an eye out for updates!
In the meantime, we want to share some information about the program which may interest you.
Firstly, we are happy to report that Parks Canada has committed to funding YIH for the next two cycles, meaning that YIH will return for the 2024/2025 funding cycle next year. This means that over the next two years an additional 88 youth (44 youth per year) will have opened opportunities for employment thanks to our wage subsidy.
With our new expanded agreement we are also happy to share that ICOMOS Canada is able to offer expanded support and opportunities, including wage subsidies of up to 3,200$ for eligible youth, and an expanded job portal which employers can use to advertise opportunities. We are also excited to announce the launch of our new resources webpage, which we will use to post helpful information for both employers and job seekers.
