ICOMOS Canada is partnering with the Embassy of Mali to Canada, to honor and celebrate the enormous contributions that Black people have made, and continue to make in all sectors of society. Celebrating Black History Month is about celebrating resilience, innovation, and determination in Canada’s Black community.
The theme for this year’s Black History Month is ‘Black health and Wellness’. Following the theme for this year, this event will commemorate the role that tangible and intangible cultural heritage play in maintaining health and well-being from a Malian perspective.
Participants and speakers will highlight the important role that the intangible cultural heritage of traditional medicine and wellness can play in supporting the health and well-being of African diaspora communities in Canada
