Applications Now Open!

The Youth in Heritage wage subsidy is now open for the 2023/2024 cycle.

Funding is available to all eligible employers who employed or will be employing a youth aged 15-30 anytime between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024.

Funding can be applied retroactively! If you have already hired your youth, or if your youth has already completed their employment you can still apply as long as you meet our eligibility requirements.

Youth in Heritage provides employers with up to 50% of wage funds, up to a maximum of 3,200$. In order to be eligible for funding, youth must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or hold refugee status. Funding can be stacked with some grant programs, as long as the grant programs do not originate from YESS funding programs.

We are focused on supporting youth facing barriers. Youth in Heritage is targeting to provide a minimum of 45% of its funding to youth facing barriers, especially Indigenous and/or racialised youth and youth with disabilities.

We are also excited to announce the launch of our new resources webpage, which we will use to post helpful information for both employers and job seekers. This page is now live, and is currently accepting proposals for guest blog posts from youth and employers alike on their experiences and reflections working in the heritage sector.

We encourage anyone interested to visit our webpage and explore our FAQs by clicking the link below.
