ICOMOS Canada’s initiative on Outstanding Universal Value has begun. Seventeen sites located in Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan have approached our experts for general direction to translate local significance into potential OUV. Conversations with representatives of each site will be held over the coming weeks and members of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) are joining the experts team for consultations on natural sites.
