ICOMOS Canada Annual Meeting 2019

Whitehorse, Yukon – April 30 to May 03, 2019

Every year ICOMOS Canada hosts a multi-day meeting that brings together professionals and practitioners from across the country to discuss key issues and trends in the field of cultural heritage. This year, the meeting explores the cultural heritage of Canada’s north. Centered on a series of panel and roundtable discussions as well as presentations from guest speakers, this year’s meeting embeds itself in the northern context by focusing on the co-management and interpretation of Indigenous places and cultural heritage, World Heritage nominations and sites in the Yukon and the opportunities and challenges presented by reconciliation and climate change.

Spread out over three days, the ICOMOS Canada annual meeting is an opportunity to expand our shared knowledge and understanding of the full richness of cultural heritage across the country and to move the conversation forward both, nationally and internationally, on important issues relevant to the safeguarding of Canada’s cultural heritage.

All activities are open to ICOMOS Canada members and to the general public. Please register at eventbrite.ca.
